From what age can my puppy come for a groom?

Getting your pup used to the grooming process as young as possible is essential. It is safe to do so at 12 weeks (or two weeks after the second vaccination).

How often should my dog be groomed?

For long-haired/non-moulting breeds, I recommend every 6-8 weeks. It is usually every 12 weeks for moulting breeds, but it is entirely your choice.

What haircut can I have for my dog?

If your dog is brushed regularly at home and kept matt-free, you can choose from various trims.

You are welcome to send photos of the trim you desire before the groom. I can also recommend a suitable trim if you are unsure.

After checking your dog’s coat, I will advise if the desired groom is achievable.

How long will the appointment be?

A groom can take anywhere between 45 minutes and 3 hours. This depends on age, breed, size, and the type of treatment. You will be informed of this before the appointment.

Do you use cages?

I DO NOT use cage dryers. All dogs are dried by hand from start to finish.

I have one crate in the salon for emergency use (i.e. a customer is running late to collect their dog). Other than that, it is just your dog and me for the duration of the groom.

The salon and the garden around the salon are entirely safe and secure.

Will my dog be around other dogs?

I am a one-to-one groomer, so your dog will have my undivided attention for the entire groom.

The only time your dog would be in the salon at the same time as another is if a customer is running late to collect their dog from the previous groom. I am the only staff member, so I will complete the entire groom from start to finish.

At no point will your dog come into contact with other dogs or people.

Is there onsite parking?

There is ample free street parking directly outside of the salon.

Please do not park on or over the drive, as it is shared with my next-door neighbour. If you have any issues, please call, and I can assist you.

PLEASE ALWAYS KEEP DOGS ON LEAD ON SITE.

Do you express anal glands?

Yes, if necessary, at an additional cost.

I will only express glands externally and only if the dog is compliant due to the risk of rupturing the glands.

Can I stay with my dog?

Unfortunately, you cannot accompany your dog to the groom due to insurance purposes.

However, this is quite beneficial as dogs tend to be less distracted, making for a calmer, safer grooming environment.

Do you groom nervous dogs/dogs with a bite history?

Yes, absolutely. I am more than happy to work with dogs with behavioural issues. I am fortunate enough to have worked in dog rescue and am very experienced with nervous/fearful dogs.

Please always be honest when booking so I can set your dog up to succeed in every way possible, making for a stress-free groom.

That being said, I cannot cater to excessively vocal dogs due to being in a residential setting.
