Trained and Insured

I am a fully trained and insured professional dog groomer based in Hemel Hempstead.

18 YEARS OF GROOMING EXPERIENCE

With more than 18 years of professional grooming experience and over 35 years of sharing a home with various dogs – 12 of my own and many more fosters – I deeply understand diverse canine breeds, including those with special needs.

Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation

My commitment goes beyond grooming.

I have a background in rescue and rehabilitation, with an immense love for fostering, rehabilitating, and adopting abuse cases, emphasising my passion for finding forever homes for dogs in need.

PET PARENT OF 5 DOGS

I (currently) have five dogs of my own – Archie the Shih Tzu, Norman the Yorkie, Gloria and Doris the Pugs, and Lucy the lazy Bulldog!

At one point, I had nine dogs in my pack! In recent years, I lost Ralph and Gus (Pugs), Morris (Bichon-Frisé / Jack Russell / Cavalier cross) and Chloe (Cavalier), who all lived wonderful lives into their mid-teens.

With a lifelong love for dogs and over 18 years of professional grooming experience, I am dedicated to providing your pets with top-notch care. At Mrs Scissor Hounds, I specialise in working with nervous dogs and creating a stress-free grooming experience for your treasured pet.

Having shared my home with various breeds for 35 years, including those with special needs, I understand the unique requirements of every pup. From brachycephalic to paraplegic dogs and those with behavioural issues, I have fostered and cared for them all. My commitment extends beyond grooming, with a background in working with rescue centres and boarding facilities, emphasising my passion for fostering, rehabilitating, and finding forever homes for dogs in need.

I take great pride in my one-on-one appointments, ensuring your dog receives personalised attention in a calm and safe environment. I groom at a pace that suits each dog, making their visit a relaxing experience. Whether your furry friend needs a simple trim or requires specialised care, Mrs Scissor Hounds is here to make your pup look and feel their best.

My Grooming Treatments

Full Groom

A luxury treatment available from 6 months of age for long-haired breeds and three months (or two weeks post their second vaccination) for those with short hair.

Puppy Package / Maintenance Groom

An essential introduction to grooming for puppies. Also serves as an interim treatment for fully grown pups between full grooms.

Bath & Blow Dry

Pamper your furry friend with a luxurious Bath and Blow Dry; ideal for all coat types from three months of age or two weeks post their second vaccination.
